Arts | Education | Production
Puddingstone Creatives are committed to fostering community engagement, and economic empowerment, and providing professional training and employment opportunities both within and outside of the organization. Our focus spans development, education, presentation, performance, and exhibition. We welcome creatives from all disciplines, including set design, stagecraft, hair, makeup, costume/clothing design, and culinary arts.
Meet the Artistic Director,
Verna Hampton
Verna Hampton, Puddingstone Creatives’ Executive Artistic Director and Director of Programming, is an award-winning performer, artist-activist, musician, master teaching artist, playwright, director, producer, and published author.
Through the collaboration and talents of Puddingstone Creatives’ Robbie McCauley Script Reading and Performance Lab, our performing company members, guest artists, and musicians, we seek to discover, develop, and present new and classic creative works in both conventional and unconventional spaces, as well as site-specific locations.
Now just two years old, this grassroots, intergenerational, multicultural, and inclusive creative organization was relaunched after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down production on their first day of filming, “The Round the Way Chef Show” at the Vine Street Community Center in 2020. Puddingstone Creatives continues to receive support from its original home, BCYF’s Vine Street Community Center, and proudly serves as “Artists in Residence” at The Resurrection Lutheran Church in Roxbury’s Nubian Square Cultural District.
